Les’ distinctive, urban approach to contemporary collage incorporates a number of graphic styles and methodologies. He works with colour, texture and typography, using found materials, vintage magazines and scanned images to create bold, abstract works that are hard to ignore. This two-day collage workshop will be split into four half-day sessions. During each session, Les will take you through a different approach to collage-making, talking you, step-by-step, through the process in real time. He will talk about sourcing materials and the pros and cons of using different substrates and his use of glues and mediums. In each half-day session, you will have the opportunity to put each approach into practice, creating your own collages and adding your own creative twist. At the end of each session Les will facilitate a group discussion reflecting on the works that have been produced.
All materials and equipment are provided, though you are welcome to bring your own too.
Tea, coffee and snacks will be provided. Please bring your own lunch.
On the evening between the two days, Les is organising an (optional) group social get-together at a local Italian Restaurant. More details to follow.
